Poster presentation guidelines

Attendees interested in presenting a poster for the GLOBAL STONE CONGRESS 2010 must send their abstracts before November 2nd 2009 to piedranatural2010@viajeseci.es.

 

Attendees can choose between presenting a communication or presenting a poster. In both cases the author must submit an abstract (for the communication or the poster) before November 2nd 2009.

 

POSTER PRESENTATION GUIDELINES


1. The Organization will provide space to place the poster.

2. There will be two poster presentation sessions per day. The sessions will be on the agenda of Congress.
3. The poster will have the following maximum size:
120 cm high by 90 cm wide.

4. The poster must be created by its author.

5. The author is responsible for assembling and removing the poster in the place and date established by the Organization. The Organizing Committee will be entitled to discard any posters not removed at the time established by the Organization.

6. In case of posters presented in co-authorship when the first author is not the author responsible for the poster’s presentation the poster will highlight the author presenting the poster.

7. Posters must be referred to one of the 5 topics of the Congress and provide relevant and consistent information highlighting the most important ideas.

8. The poster should follow a logical sequence from left to right and from top to bottom and must include the following information:

a) Title of the study, project or activity. The title should be the same used for the Abstract. We recommend using font Arial or Helvetica, size 36, bold.
b) Authors. Persons listed as authors take responsibility for the intellectual content. We recommend using font Arial or Helvetica, size 30 or 32, bold.
c) Institution. The name of the authors’ institution must be showed in the poster. We recommend using font Arial or Helvetica, size 30 or
32 in bold.
d) Content. The presentation should include the following:
- Introduction: Background, theoretical or practical relevance, objectives, hypothesis.
- Methodology: Description of methods and materials used to enable the reader to know how the work was done.
- Results: The most relevant data directly related to the topic. It is recommended to use tables, figures and simple photographs that show easily the work’s scope to the reader.
- Conclusions: A brief overview of the results, recommendations or suggestions.


9. For the final acceptance of the poster the author must have paid the registration fees for Congress.

 For the header font Arial or Helvetica, size 24 or 26, bold should be used. For the text font Arial or Helvetica, size 20 or 22, not bold should be used.
